The Carpet Factory (repeating pattern)

The Templeton Carpet Factory (repeat pattern)

This stunning building can be found in Glasgow Green. It was designed by William Lieper, constructed in 1892 and is said to be inspired by the Doge’s Palace in Venice. I have used several of the features from the facade of the building to create this mixed media piece. The collage includes cuttings of wool carpet to emphasis the link with the history of the building, which was Templetons carpet factory.
This building is a personal favourite and elements of it feature in a number of my pieces.
