Glasgow School of Art : The West Wing.

Art School 3

Art School 3 detail

This small collage features wall sections and windows from the west elevation and two patterns of ceramic tiles embedded in the west stairwell of the building. The photographs for this collage were taken before the devastating fire which badly damaged this area of the art school.
Also featured is one of the designs Mackintosh used for the wrought iron brackets seen on the front facade. They were intended to support the planks of wood that the window cleaners would have used to stand on at the time, to clean the vast windows.
